Staying in a Cabin During Your Vacation? Learn More About These 5 Considerations

For a unique and enjoyable experience, spend your vacation in a cabin in the woods or a cabin on the beach. Cabin vacation rentals are quiet and peaceful and have a variety of options and amenities. Staying in a vacation cabin can allow you to get away from people, traffic, noise, and your normal routine. This can be very relaxing when you know all of the details of the vacation cabin before you stay there.

Here are some considerations to think about and questions to ask the cabin owner or rental agent when you find a cabin that you might like to rent for your vacation:

Cabin Kitchen:  Ask about the appliances that will be available in the cabin during your stay. If you are planning to cook some of your meals in the cabin, it is helpful to know if a microwave will be there. Find out if other appliances and tools will also be provided such as a blender, a coffee maker, a toaster, and a washer and dryer.

Cabin Accessibility to Goods and Services:  Ask the cabin owner or rental agent how far the nearest grocery store and gas station are from the cabin. If they are more than a few miles you may want to bring groceries and a full tank of gas with you when arrive. Find out about the availability of other local facilities that you may want or need while you are staying in the cabin such as a drug store, a video rental store, a place to rent bicycles, and local restaurants that will deliver.

Cabin Telephone Access:  Ask if cell phone service is available in the cabin as some cabins are in remote locations. If cell phone service is available, ask if a Wi-Fi network is also available and find out the password to connect to it. If cell phone service is not available, ask if the cabin has a landline that you can use while you are staying there.

Cabin Parking:  Ask about parking availability while you are staying in the cabin. Find out if there are one or two parking spaces that you can use while you are there. Find out if the parking that is available for the cabin is in a garage or carport so that you can bring a car cover if needed.

Cabin Rental Fee:  When you find a vacation cabin that you would like to rent, ask if there are any special rates that are offered to guests that stay over a weekend or stay for 7 nights. Special rates may also be available at different times of the year for guests that stay during the off season. Ask the cabin owner or rental agent if you qualify for a special rate when you book a cabin for your stay.

For a unique and enjoyable experience, rent a cabin for your vacation and take lots of photos as you will want to remember this trip for a long time. Resources like OKEMOHOUSERENTAL.COM can explore more about amenities.
