Getting Married? 3 Tips For Choosing A Hotel For Your Wedding Venue

If you are getting married soon and having a hard time finding the right venue, you should consider choosing a hotel. This makes the perfect place as long as you choose the right one. Below are three tips on how you can do this so you can start planning the rest of your wedding.

Hotel Conference Room

When looking at hotels, ask to see the conference room as this is the perfect place to hold your reception. Make sure the conference room is large enough for the number of guests that will be at the reception. Even if the conference room looks boring, there are many things you can do to dress it up. You do need to check with the hotel as to the changes you want to make to ensure they will allow you to do this.

Hang lanterns or even chandeliers from the ceiling. This works very well if the conference room has high ceilings. This can make the room feel intimate instead of empty.  You should also consider lighting all over the room. For example, use soft pink or amber uplighting to create a warm glow that will feel inviting for your guests.  Add extra lighting on the cake table and the guest book display.

Put tablecloths and napkins on the table that match the colors of your wedding.

Hotel Setting

You should not choose a hotel on a busy main street that has the view of roads with passing cars. Instead, find a hotel that has a beautiful setting. For example, beautiful landscaping with trees and flowers are much better to look at for your guests. A hotel that has beautiful architecture as well as beautiful courtyards is something else to consider.

Hotel Staff

Choose a hotel that will offer their staff to help you during your reception. Some hotels may even have staff that have experience setting up receptions and weddings. They can help you work with the various vendors, such as caterers and photographers, and help you set things up. There may be staff that will serve dinner to your guests or help at the catering table if you are having a buffet style dinner. Talk with the hotel manager to see what services they can offer you.

Besides all of this, make sure the hotel you choose has enough rooms available for the guests that would like to stay there. Also, inspect the rooms yourself to ensure they are in good condition. Contact a company like Clarion Hotel - Seattle International Airport for more information.
